We are seeking to appoint a talented, committed and enthusiastic Catering Manager/Chef to join our small, close-knit catering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a permanent position working term time only, allowing for a great work-life balance. Muntham House School’s focus is on providing a nutritious lunch using quality fresh and seasonal food for up to 130 pupils and 70 staff across four sittings. The Catering team work hard to ensure that they can offer a wide and varied menu to all, whilst ensuring that specific dietary requirements are supported within the planned menu.
The Catering Manager is responsible for running and managing the Kitchen to the highest professional standards, delivering a seamless food service, exceptional food and hygiene standards and all within budget. They will establish strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the availability of fresh and quality ingredients. The successful applicant will have good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks. Applicants should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Ideally you will have;
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or institutional catering setting
- Ideally, C&G 7061/7062 or equivalent qualification
- Coordinate menu planning, taking into account nutritional guidelines, dietary requirements, and budget constraints
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire the small catering team
