Food Tech Update

During the last six weeks, the Food Tech department was lucky to have a professional chef visit from the Prept Foundation. The Prept Foundation was co-founded in 2020 by Dan Wade, Jessica Aggarwal and Tom Surgey. They wanted to help fill the gap between what was taught in the Food Tech curriculum and what pupils need to make healthy, nutritious food when they are cooking for themselves.

After a few conversations between Mrs Barratt and Camilla Bowers at Prept, professional chef Ellie Ledden, came to teach our Year 11 pupils. Our pupils had an amazing time learning how to make Potato Gnocchi from scratch with a piquant sauce. After this, they were shown how to make a quick berry ice cream and cookie biscuits. Then the ice cream was loaded onto one cookie and sandwiched by another; what a treat!
