Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition
9B Bronze Expedition to New Forest
Muntham House School has officially kicked off the expedition season with a brilliant Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition in the historic National Park.
Year 9B pupils were split into two groups and successfully completed a self‑sufficient expedition, navigating the historic landscape using only a map and compass. The boys embraced the challenge, worked together brilliantly, and even camped overnight under the stars, an experience they all thoroughly enjoyed.
Mr Imbert, Duke of Edinburgh Lead Teacher, was greatly impressed by the group's level of preparation. He praised their confident approach to navigation, their strong organisation and teamwork, and their excellent camaraderie throughout the expedition.
Mr Imbert commented that he can see real potential in this group as they move forward to complete their Bronze Award, with the opportunity to progress to Silver and, later, Gold for those continuing into Post‑16.
The pupils reflected proudly on what they achieved, sharing comments such as:
“I’m proud I didn’t give up.”
“I felt confident and kept my mind focused on the job. I discovered a new level of perseverance.”
“I’m way fitter than I thought I was!”
“We all played our parts and didn’t rely on one person.”
“Our group got on really well, and we didn’t argue once.”
Well done to all the boys involved, a fantastic start to what promises to be an exciting year of adventure, personal growth, and achievement!
