Spanish Curriculum Day

On Friday 11th December 2015 a strange sight could be seen at Muntham House School.  The regular timetable was replaced with a day celebrating Spanish culture and traditions.  Whilst staff and pupils alike attended school dressed as elves in support of Rockinghorse’s Dress as an Elf day, raising £96.22 for the worthy cause.

Throughout the day the boys worked together in teams of mixed ages completing lots of Spanish themed tasks.  Their groups were named after inspirational Spaniards who had made a difference to others, much like our boys aspire to do.

The activities running throughout the day included tapas tasting, Spanish landmarks, quizzes, art with Dia de Muertos face painting, Spanish Christmas, Spanish music, Spanish conversation and bingo.  Our Chef also got involved serving chicken paella, Spanish tortilla and tres leches cake for dessert in our decorated dining hall!

The day saw many examples of great team work and cooperation between members of the Muntham community, the mixed aged groupings offered opportunities for the older pupils to mentor the younger ones and for all to experience a different way of learning.

The day culminated in a celebration assembly of all the standout efforts that were made.  A pupil from each group was selected by their teammates to be celebrated as a fine example to their peers.
