Information Communication Technology is more than playing games, pressing buttons and surfing the internet. It’s about giving our pupils the skillset to understand hardware and use software in the best way to achieve their goals.

Our dedicated ICT labs stocks both PC’s and Apple Macs for all the pupils to utilise. Pupils also use iPads and virtual reality across the curriculum to support and enhance their learning.

Pupils are introduced to a number of different programming languages such as HTML, CSS and Scratch.  These new skills prepare pupils for their BTEC studies in Design Information Technology and for future college, university and employment opportunities.

 The ICT Department aims to:

  • Understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science.
  • Be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communications technology.
  • Analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programmes in order to solve such problems.
