Pre - Primary
Our Pre-Primary setting at Muntham House School provides pupil centred, relational, therapeutically informed teaching and learning experiences in a bespoke nurturing environment, within an idyllic walled garden combining purpose built facilities, high quality resources and an extensive natural outdoor environment in which to play, learn and thrive.
Our Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) curriculum is underpinned by core values championing the need to attend to the wellbeing of our pupils first. The curriculum will enable pupils to socialise, communicate, collaborate and manage their relationships positively. This in turn will enable them to develop the skills necessary to learn; Resilience, Relationships, Risk Taking, Resourcefulness and Reflection.
These essential foundations enable our children to overcome barriers, which may be present as a result of suffering developmental trauma, adverse childhood experiences or other factors, and empower them to access the National Curriculum through topics and themes interweaved with our SEMH curriculum.
Muntham House School Pre-Primary is committed to ensuring our vulnerable pupils enjoy early experiences of being held and positively included in a therapeutically informed educational setting that recognises their individual strengths and differences and can accommodate and celebrate their optimal development.
We have combined our years of experience, knowledge and consultation with experts in the field of education, mental health and wellbeing to create a bespoke curriculum and assessment framework which we truly believe reflects the needs of our vulnerable pupils and will ensure we are able to offer them life changing opportunities and outcomes.
Examples of Creative Curriculum Themes/ Topics follow as;
Autumn: Home is Where We Start from; Traditional Tales, Disney Heroes.
