At Muntham House School we follow the national curriculum for art, and encourage children and young people’s creative and expressive development through working with a range of different mediums. The children and young people are supported in drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, photography and ICT.
They develop their critical skills and visual awareness through the study of artists and designers across a range of cultures and explore ideas and experiment with materials and processes in order to sustain lines of enquiry, provide imaginative solutions and develop rich, artistic response.
At key stage four the children and young people have the opportunity to choose to study Art at GCSE level and we hope to offer AS and A level art to our Extended Education Unit young people (aged 16+) in the near future.
We value the work of all our children and young people and place great importance on providing a broad and varied experience which will, we believe, provide a good platform for the development of future skills and knowledge.
